Topps flagship product continues to be the most widely collected in the hobby, with this year's issue featuring a white bordered design with a bubble of sorts popping out from the corner with the player's name and team logo. I have to rate this year's design pretty low compared to recent years of Topps base issue. But it isn't too bad and it has kind of grown on me as the year has gone on.
As for content, this issue falls a little flat for me. I like some stuff, like the 1987 Minis and the Golden Giveaway Die-Cuts. And of course the wood 1/1s from the base set are to my liking (I typically love wood cards). But most of it is a little blah in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I'll certainly be grabbing all of the basic Cubs cards that are here. And maybe one or two of the wood cards. But I'm just not as excited about it this year as I have been the last couple of years. Oh well, that will free up some cash to chase other stuff as it hits the market.
