This is a weird issue for me as a team collector. I'm actually still contemplating whether to add anything from this set to my master checklist of Cubs cards. The cards from this issue are unlicensed by Major League Baseball Properties, so no logos can be shown. Panini gets around this by using non-baseball photos. In most cases the photos used are high school yearbook photos. So are these really Cubs cards? I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to classify them yet. I definitely won't be buying any of them in the near future. But I am listing the players from the set who are closely associated with the Cubs organization here.
As far as the cards themselves, all of the base set cards are either game used or auto cards. This is true of the insert sets as well. But I would really rather there be a traditional base set of some kind with regular cardboard only cards. The design of cards from most of the sets is fine, but the old black and white photos really don't do much for me. Overall I rate this issue pretty low, I don't really see anything that especially catches my eye in it.
In sets which have multiple versions, not all cards have all versions and serial numbering varies (all cards serial #'d 250 or less). Since this issue is fairly new, I can't be certain which versions exist for which players in all cases. I'll be updating this as a final listing of versions becomes available or as I see new versions in the marketplace.
