Cubs Breakdown - 2010 Bowman Draft

2010 Bowman Draft
This is always an eagerly anticipated product and it looks like this year is a pretty good effort from Topps. I still dislike the card design for both the regular cards and the prospects, but it isn't so bad that it ruins the whole issue. And seeing some new guys in Cubs gear is one of my favorite things in any new issue. Thomas Diamond, Micah Gibbs, and Hayden Simpson are the three making their first appearance in a Cubs jersey here. Beyond the base set and the parallels, there really isn't much to this issue. But it really doesn't need anything more, either.

  1. Two words-Casey Coleman. Give the boy a card! He'd better be in a 2011 release, or I may sue!

  2. I'm sure we'll see him in the main 2011 Topps set. Probably in 2011 Bowman too. We haven't seen any Marcos Mateo or Scott Maine cards yet either, they both saw a lot of playing time down the stretch. It's kind of a low tide period for new stuff right now, I believe Bowman Sterling is the only thing left to come before 2011 Topps in February.

  3. Do you think we'll see a Maine or Mateo card anytime soon?

  4. I think we'll see them in 2011 Bowman. It's possible they'll be in the base Topps set too. We'll just have to wait and see!
